Krystian Barzykowski, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor

He earned his Ph.D. in 2014 from Jagiellonian University and is actively involved in cognitive experimental psychology, with a special focus on memory-related issues, psychological diagnosis, and cross-cultural psychology. He is the author or co-author of several dozen scientific publications in renowned national and international journals. Additionally, he is the initiator and co-author of the first Polish textbook on psychological diagnosis in the context of multiculturalism and multilingualism, which received a recommendation from the Council of Europe. He has managed and executed numerous projects funded by institutions such as the National Science Centre, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Stefan Batory Foundation, and the European Commission. He is a recipient of numerous prizes, scholarships, and awards, including the Minister of Science and Higher Education Scholarship for outstanding scientific achievements (three times), a doctoral scholarship within the ETIUDA competition organized by NCN, the Mieczysław Bekker Scholarship from the National Agency for Academic Exchange, and a finalist of the international European Roma Spirit Award 2016. In 2020, he was honored with the Andrzej Malewski Award from the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences for his significant contribution to the development of psychological research and social science methodology. Recently, He has been awarded a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship from the European Commission to conduct a research project on involuntary memory and déjà vu at the Université Grenoble Alpes, France (2024-2026).
